"Jesus, I'm waiting here boss I know you're looking out for us But maybe your hands aren't free Your father made the world in 7 He's in charge of Heaven Will you put a word in for me"

pop debuted at number one on the u.s. charts with over 349,000 copies sold in its first week in stores. the album was also number one in 27 other countries.

*DISCOTHEQUE (5:19)
*DO YOU FEEL LOVED (5:07)
*MOFO (5:47)
*IF GOD WILL SEND HIS ANGELS (5:22)
*STARING AT THE SUN (4:37)
*LAST NIGHT ON EARTH (4:46)
*GONE (4:27)
*MIAMI (4:53)
*THE PLAYBOY MANSION (4:41)
*IF YOU WEAR THAT VELVET DRESS (5:15)
*PLEASE (5:02)
*WAKE UP DEAD MAN (4:52)

pop is certainly a surprising album. the first three tracks really set it up to be a face-paced, dance/techno album, however with "if God will send His angels", things really change pace to almost the achtung-era u2 we all know and love. it's my personal opinion that this album is certainly on par with "the joshua tree" in it's emotional and artistic content.
